Fedor Savinovich Kokorin (1918–1997) — WWII Veteran, Hero of the Soviet Union, and Ust-Kamenogorsk Honorary Citizen.

Fedor Savinovich Kokorin was born in Russia's Perm Region on December 20, 1918. He joined the Soviet military in 1939 and deployed to the front lines in April 1942.

The young Komsomol member and Guards Lieutenant took command of a rifle company under the Central Front's 60th Army (4th Guards Rifle Regiment, 6th Guards Rifle Division) after completing officer training in 1943. Kokorin demonstrated exceptional leadership by spearheading his unit's assault crossing across the Pripyat River on September 25, 1943. His company successfully overran a heavily fortified Axis stronghold in the village of Otashev near Kyiv just five days later.

Kokorin received the nation's highest military honor—the Hero of the Soviet Union title—on October 16, 1943, for his conspicuous gallantry under fire. His wartime achievements also earned him the prestigious Order of Lenin, the Order of the Patriotic War (1st and 2nd class), and the Order of the Red Star.

Kokorin settled permanently in Ust-Kamenogorsk after his postwar demobilization. He spent the rest of his career working for the VSCAF (Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Armed Forces). Regional Committee, a prominent state paramilitary auxiliary organization, until his retirement. The government granted him a special national merit pension in recognition of his extraordinary wartime service.

Today, Kokorin's legacy lives on in his adopted hometown. A local street bears his name, and a City Executive Committee decree officially named him an Honorary Citizen of Ust-Kamenogorsk on May 6, 1980.
