Aktay AskerkhanAktay Askerkhan (1974) is a poet.

He was born on November 22, 1974 in Mongolia in the Bayan-Olgi district in the Kyzylkayyn region. In 1993 he graduated from M. Zaisanov Kyzylkayyn Secondary School. He received higher education in Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

Askerkhan's works were published in the Kazakh newspapers "Egemen Kazakhstan", "Kazak adebieti" and magazines "Aitumar", "Akzhunis", "Daraboz", "Iman", "Otyken". Also on the republican websites "BAK.kz", "Abai.kz", "Ult portals", "Kamshy", "Kultobe" and others.

Askerkhan Aktay is a prize-winner of the republican poetry contest "Er zhenisi - El zhenisi" (2012, Astana), winner of the first place of the poetry contest for the 155th anniversary of Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev (2013, Semey), winner of the Grand Prix of the republican competition of poets "Dinim-dingegim" of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan of Kostanay regional Mosque Maral Ishan (2014, Kostanay), winner of the third place of the international poetry contest "El korgany-Er Zhanibek" to the 300th anniversary of Er-Zhanibek, the winner of the second place of the republican creative contest "The best poetry" to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, organized by the Kamshy Foundation (2015, Almaty), the winner of the special prize "Daraboz" (2015, Almaty), the grand Prix of the republican poetic competition to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate "Ulytau ulagaty-ult Muraty" (2015, Astana), the Grand Prix of the republican the contest dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Zuk-batyr (2016, Astana), the grand Prix of the poetic competition "Bagytym - Islam, Bakytym - Tauelsizdik" of the representative office of the Ust-Kamenogorsk spiritual administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (2016, Ust- Kamenogorsk).

The author of the poetic collection "Zybarzhattyn zharkyly" (2016), dramatic plays "Otyn oshpesin", "Zhylkyshy bidin amanaty".

He was awarded a medal for the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, a "Letter of Thanks" from the akim of Bayan-Olga district. Honorary citizen of the Kyzylkiy region. He lives in Ust-Kamenogorsk, East Kazakhstan region.

In 2020, he was accepted as a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.

In 2021, he was elected deputy of the city maslikhat of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
