Akhmetov Erzhan (1879-1967) – akyn

He was born in the Shilikti of Tarbagatay district of East Kazakhstan region.
He is an author of poems «Myrzash Batyr» about the exploits of Batyr in the struggle for freedom and independence of his people. The heroic poem «Arkalyk Batyr», «Kabanbay Batyr», «Bozzhigit», «Bakhtiyar» etc. «Aitys of Aset and Yryszhan» included in many collections and research. Samples of the national heroic epic and aitys are stored in the department of manuscripts and textual criticism of the Institute of Literature and Art.
