Eleukenov Sheriazdan Rustemuly (1929) – doctor of philology, professor, Honored Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan (1981).
He was born on 3 September in Ulan district of East Kazakhstan oblast. After graduating Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, 1951), he worked as a literary employee, was a head of department of the newspaper «Altay Bolshevik» (now «Rudny Altay»), «Flag of Communism» (now «Didar») in East Kazakhstan region, and was a senior lecturer of the Kazakh State University, was an instructor, head of sector, deputy head of the department of the Central Committee apparatus of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. In 1986-1988 he was a director. In 1988-1996 he was a head of department of Russian literature, senior researcher of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O. Auezov, professor of the department bibliology faculty of journalism of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
He is an author of scientific works «The Kazakh novel and the modern era» (1968), «Sanity contemporary» (1977), «With the new line» (1989) dedicated to the life and works of Sh. Kudayberdiev, M. Zhumabaev, A.Baytursynov, M. Dulatov and J. Aimautov, «From folklore to the epic novel» (1987), «Literature and the fate of the nation» (1997), «History of the Kazakh books» (1999 ), documentary novel «Mukhametzhan – Marhuma» (1998), a monograph «Magzhan» (1995, was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1998), the author of the collection of «Eurasian talisman» (1996). Under his editorship came a collection of «International Relations of Kazakh literature in the period of independence» (2008), co-author of the book «Newspaper Genres» (1964).
He was awarded with government awards: the Order «Badge of Honor»; the medal «For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945».
