Kaysenov Kasym (1918-2006) – a writer
He was born in the Asubulak village of Ulan district of East Kazakhstan oblast. After graduating the political education college he worked in Pavlodar region in the position of inspector of public education. After graduating the special military school (1941) was directed to the staff of the Southwestern Front. He led guerrilla group, participated in the battles for the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania from the Nazi invaders. For services in battle during the war he was awarded the Order of Patriotic War I degree, Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, eight medals.
In 1953 he graduated from the Party School of the two-year Communist Party of Kazakhstan. For a long time he worked as an editor, deputy director of the publishing house «Zhazushy» and «Kaynar».
His first book was «Young Partisans» (1954). He is an author of boos «Ilko Vitryak», «Partisans Pereyaslav» (1955), a book of memories «From the clutches of death» (1960), «The Boy in the rear of the enemy», «On the Dnieper» (1961).
His many books were translated into Russian, Kyrgyz, Ukrainian, Vietnamese languages.
He was a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, honorary title of «National Hero of Kazakhstan».
