Хасенов МухаметкалиKhasenov Muhametkali (1927-1987) – writer, playwright

He was born on 1January in the Naualy village of the Urdzharsky district of Semey (now East Kazakhstan) oblast.
After graduating the secondary school, until 1953 he worked as a correspondent, executive secretary in the regional newspaper «Kyzyl Tu» (Pavlodar), «Caspian commune» (Guriev, now Atyrau).
In 1953-1962 M. Khasenov served as a chief editor of «Zhazushy». In 1959 he graduated from the screenwriter’s faculty of the Union State Institute of Cinematography (Moscow).
In 1962-1963 he was a senior, chief editor of the repertoire and the editorial board of the Ministry of culture of Kazakhstan, a literary consultant drama department of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, in 1968-1986 a head of the literary department of the National Theatre for Children and Youth, in 1986-1987 the adviser of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan. Published a collection of plays, «Sary-Arka» (1961), «The Lost Diary» (1962), «Once again about love», «Investigator» (1972), «Intimate conversations» (1973), «Pai-Pai, newlyweds!» (1978), «Valiant» (1980). He wrote the screenplay of films and documentaries: «Botagoz» (with A. Filippov, 1957), «Our Kulyash» (1967), «Shaken Aimanov» (1974).
He was awarded the diploma of the Supreme Soviet of Kazakhstan.
