He was born in 1951 in Zaisan, East Kazakhstan region in a worker's family. In 1969, he was drafted into the Soviet Army. In the same year he entered and in 1973 graduated from the Higher Border Command School of the KGB of the USSR. For 7 years he served in the troops of the Eastern Border District of the KGB of the USSR, held officer positions in the border units and in the headquarters of the border detachment. In 1983 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy. After graduating from the Academy, he served in the Eastern Border District on the state border. In 1985-1986, he was on a business trip to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. In 1989, Asylov N.Zh. was the first Kazakh to complete full-time adjunct studies at the Higher Border Command Courses of the KGB of the USSR and defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Military Sciences. Since 1989, he served in military educational institutions in Moscow: at the Higher Border Military-Political School of the KGB of the USSR and the Frunze Military Academy. Since 1992, he served as the head of the Dzerzhinsky Higher Border Command School, the Almaty Higher Border Command School of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Military Institute of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Military Institute of the Border Troops of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1997 to 1998 he served in the Barlau Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, created a special educational institution of intelligence. Currently, Professor of the Department of Tactics and Operational Art of the Operational and Tactical Faculty of the Academy of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over the years of service, he has grown from a private to a major general. Military service of N. Asylov in the Republic of Kazakhstan was mainly closely connected with pedagogical activity and organizational work in military universities.
