He was born in 1963 in the village of Kurchum, East Kazakhstan region.
He studied at the sports school No. 6 in Almaty, engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling. Since childhood, Samat had the energy of Kazakh batyrs. Having remarkable strength, he was very modest. In 1992, Samat won the World and Asian Sambo Championships in Vladivostok. He took part in sumo wrestling competitions in Japan. Took the second prize. In 1995, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Abai, held within the framework of UNESCO, he became the winner of the freestyle wrestling competitions. Having lost his father early, knowing financial and material difficulties in sports, Samat helped many talented young athletes. Ramazanov was one of the few who raised youth sports in Kazakhstan. Samat Ramazanov is a multiple champion of Kazakhstan and Asia in sambo, a member of the USSR national team, a bronze medalist of the World Championship, a multiple winner of the Asian Sumo Championship. Winner of the international tournament dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Abai.
Samat's family pays special attention to the upbringing of children, his sons Aydin and Dastan are successfully engaged in Japanese wrestling. Ramazanov made a great contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's sports.
Ramazanov Samat died on June 28, 2020.
