Mashakov Sadu Kalievich (1906-1993) – poet, writer, translator, journalist, member of the Great Patriotic War.
He was born in the Voskresenevka village of Semey oblast. He studied at a Muslim school, he graduated the Russian school in Semey. He graduated Semipalatinsk Pedagogical Institute.
He worked as an employee of the newspapers «Kazakh language», «New agriculture», «Red field», «Socialistic East», head of department, executive secretary, deputy editor of the regional newspaper «Semey tany»; authorized the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Semipalatinsk region, a senior editor of the transfer department of the Kazakh Telegraph Agency, Almaty.
His first book of poems is «Collective Farm Song» (1932). Then «The song is a hammer» (1933), «The Rock» (1934), «For the Motherland» (1938), «Years» (1954), «Stages» (1959), «Years and roads» (1962 ), «My years» (1968), «Eternal rider» (1972), «Evening song» (1976), «Early years» (1978), «Good nature» (1982), «Silence» (1985).
He was a member of the Writers' Union (1936). During the Great Patriotic War Garden he was an editor of the newspaper «Forward to the enemy!».
He worked in the field of literary translation. He translated the works by Pushkin, Lermontov, Yesenin, Shevchenko, Karim and other poets.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, Order of the Patriotic War 2nd degree, medals.
