Kobdikov T.

Kobdikov Toleu (1874-1954) – akynКобдиков Толеу

He was born in the Dagan parish of the Karkarala County (now Ayagoz district, Barshatas village of East Kazakhstan oblast). At twelve years old he began to compose his first poems – improvisation. He repeatedly visited Abai. He listened to his stories, poems, about what wrote in his memoirs. All his life he considered his teacher Abai. His skill as akyn and improviser most clearly revealed in 1943-1946, when he took an active part in national and regional aitys.
His poems were published in the newspapers only during July and August in 1943: «In the foothills Akshoky», «Stretched wide steppe», «Our land is cleared of the enemy», and others.
In 1954 he was awarded the title «People's akyn Kazakh SSR».

Kobzev Yuri MikhailovichKobzev Yuri Mikhailovich (1947-1975) – journalist, poet

He was born on February 18, 1947 in Shemonaiha, East Kazakhstan region. He graduated from school with a gold medal in 1966, in the same year he joined the editorial office of the district newspaper "Leninskoe Znamya" and the correspondence department at KazGU named after S.M. Kirov (now KazNU named after Al-Farabi), which he successfully graduated in 1972. As a student, he joined the Union of Journalists of the USSR. He worked in the editorial office of the district newspaper "Leninskoe Znamya" in the information department, then, since 1970, headed the industrial department of the editorial office, and since January 1972 - deputy editor of the newspaper "Leninskoe Znamya". Readers were looking forward to every article by Yuri Mikhailovich in the newspaper, because they were bright, imaginative, sometimes with warm irony or with caustic humor. While still a schoolboy, he began to write poems, they were often printed in the newspaper, his graduation essay was in the poems, and he even tried to rhyme the periodic table. According to the memoirs of contemporaries, they were pure, transparent, like a spring spring, poems. They captivated with their simplicity and significance. Many of the poems are set to music by Nelly Rau and other musicians. Kobzev was an active member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. 

He died on December 9, 1975 from a serious long-term illness at the age of 28.

Komov Sergey Alexeyevich (1967) – poet, novelist

He was born in the Samara district of East Kazakhstan oblast. He graduated the philological faculty of East Kazakhstan State University.
He is published in the national magazines «Prostor» (Almaty), «Niva» (Astana), in Russian «Bratina», «Slavyanka», «Youth» (Moscow); in the seven-volume anthology «Contemporary Russian Abroad» (Moscow).
He is an author of poetry collections «From the eternal faith in goodness» (1995, St. Petersburg), «Bukhtarma lily» (2004, Almaty), a book of prose «Over the high bank of the Gulf» (2015, Ust-Kamenogorsk).
Winner of the First Moscow International poetry contest «Golden Pen» in the nomination «Dedication of the Great Victory» (2004), the Republican contest «Niva» magazine in the nomination «Best Short Story» (2010), the International Literary Contest «About Cossacks Say a Word» in the nomination «Poetry» (2014), «Paper plane» (2015), «Relatives and Neighbors» (2016).

Кобрин Вячеслав Григорьевич

Kobrin Vyacheslav Grigorevich (1938-2008) – poet, social activist

He was born in the Oleninsky district of Tver province. After graduating the Dneprodzerzhinsk Industrial Technical, he was sent to Semey (1957). He worked at the enterprises of the city before retiring (1993). He was the activist against nuclear weapons testing. As the first chairman of the committee of the Semipalatinsk Peace (1987), then in the ranks of the anti-nuclear organization «Nevada-Semipalatinsk» spoke at rallies in Semipalatinsk, Almaty, Pavlodar, and Moscow.
He is the author collection of poems «Charm of female beauty» (2002).
He is a member of the Republican Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
He was awarded the medal «Fighter for Peace», the Order «Kurmet» as a veteran anti-nuclear movement. He is Honorary Citizen of the Semey city.

Кратенко Андрей Иванович

Kratenko Andrey Ivanovich (1961) – journalist, writer

He was born in the Mednogorsk of the Orenburg Region of Russian Federation. After graduating the journalism faculty of Tomsk State University in 1983, he arrived in Ust-Kamenogorsk and became a correspondent of the regional newspaper «Rudny Altay». Since 1987, he was the correspondent of the republican newspaper «Lenin change», then «Express K». In parallel, he worked as a correspondent of the newspaper «Caravan», «Time». He is a member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, representative of the news agency «Interfax-Kazakhstan».
He is the author of books about the history and culture of East Kazakhstan «Belovode. Paradise Lost» (1991), «Why Ataman came back?» (1991), «In the heart of Eurasia: some places, people and things» (2005), etc. He is the editor of several books and photo albums.
