Kemelbaeva Aigul (1965) – writer, novelist, literary critic, screenwriter

She was born on 21 March in the Kundyzdy village of Abai district of East Kazakhstan oblast. In 1984-1987 she studied at the journalism faculty of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. In 1994 she graduated the department of prose Moscow Literary Institute named after Gorky.
Aigul Kemelbaeva was Laureate Prize Youth Union and the Union journalists of Kazakhstan (1998), Winner of the contest «Soros-Kazakhstan-Debut», winner of the «Modern Kazakh novel» Foundation «Soros-Kazakhstan» (2000), Laureate of the State Youth Award «Daryn».
