Segizbaev Kadirbek (1941) – a writer
He was born on 1 May in the Zharsu village of Zaysan district of East Kazakhstan oblast. He graduated the journalism faculty of Kazakh State University named after Al-Farabi. He worked in the newspapers «Leninshil zhas» (now «Zhas Alash»), in the magazine «Education and labor» (now «Zerde»), in the publishing «Zhalyn», «Kazakh Encyclopedia», «Sanat», «Atamura». His first works were published in the national press in 1968. He is an author of the books «The shortest days of the year» (1978), «The people of distant roads» (1981), «This green, green world» (1984), «Road» (1986 ), «Belaskan» (2001), «Arasan» (2002). His book «We live in the town» won the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan named after M.Auezov in 1984. He translated into Kazakh language book «My General» by Likhanov.
