Pivovarov Pavel Savelevich (1926-2013) - writer, poet, publisher, public figure, participant of the Great Patriotic War. 

Born on September 12, 1926 in the village of Nikolskoye, Zyryanovsky district (now Altai district) East Kazakhstan region. 

In the era of the beginning of the educational program, a literate man, a fellow villager-a blacksmith, met on the path of little Pasha Pivovarov. Seeing in the boy an amazing curiosity and love for books, the blacksmith invited him to his home, where he read aloud, observing all the rules of expressive reading, Victor Hugo's novel Les Miserables. Since then, the book has become the meaning of life for Pavel Savelevich Pivovarov.

In 1943 Pavel Pivovarov graduated from the 10th grade of Nikolskaya Secondary School and was immediately drafted into the Red Army. He served in a special machine gun battalion of the 125th Rifle Regiment. Then, as a cadet of the Kharkov Military Aviation School of Communications, he served in the fifth company. In one of the fights, he suffered a spinal injury. He was treated for a long time in a military hospital.

After the war, he worked as the head of the Bukhtarma district library. In 1948, he became a student of the Semipalatinsk Cultural Education School. Later he graduated from the History Department of the Semipalatinsk State Pedagogical Institute.

The love of classical literature, the awareness of its high purpose helped Pavel Savelyevich even in choosing a life partner. His wife was Anastasia Selantievna Shchur, a teacher of Russian language and literature, who gave the writer two daughters.

Under the strict guidance of his wife, Pavel Savelyevich began to read even more. Interest in the history of the native land has grown. Exemplary literature, its language and genre diversity prompted Pavel Savelyevich to take up the pen. The first story "Bukhtarma Dawns" about the Decembrist Matvey Muravyov-the Apostle (1949) was born.

The 90s of the XX century are the beginning of the most fruitful period in the work of Pavel Savelyevich Pivovarov. He writes books one after another and tries himself as a publisher. On his initiative, the first issue of the literary and artistic magazine "Vostok" was published in Ust-Kamenogorsk in 2001. Local prose writers and poets and P. S. Pivovarov himself begin to print their works in it.

Dozens of books, a four-volume collection of selected works - the result of the creative activity of the writer, publisher P. S. Pivovarov. He is characterized not only by an original style, but also by a variety of genres: tales, anecdotes, ditties, songs, stories, myths, novellas, fairy tales, novels.

Polyakov Vladimir Borisovich (1954) - writer

Polakov was born on September 29, 1954 in the village of Volchanka in the Shemonaikhinsky district. Graduated from Ust-Kamenogorsk agricultural College, received a specialty of agronomist.

In 1973-75 he served in the ranks of the Soviet army. After demobilization, he worked in his native village as an agronomist, artistic director at the House of Culture. In 1977 he entered the Semipalatinsk Music College, specialty "choral department". Since 1980 he worked as a singing teacher, since 1992 as a school director.In 1995 he graduated from the correspondence department of the EKSU Faculty of Geography.

The author of original stories, essays, sketches, poems, most of which have already been published, both in periodicals and in a collection published in Ust-Kamenogorsk in 2005.  For the 75th anniversary of the Shemonaikhinsky district, he wrote the words and music of the "Anthem of the district".

He lives in the village of Volchanka in the Shemonaikhinsky district, worked as the director of the Kirov secondary school.

The works of Vladimir Borisovich are published not only in the regional newspaper "LZ Segodnya", his stories were published by the magazines "Prostor" and "Irtysh". "This is no longer a pen test, but a serious application for good prose. Meetings and presentations of creativity were held with readers of libraries of the district of Monokranto. For many years, stories with subtle humor, accurate characteristic sketches, and soulful poetic lines have been finding their readers.

Pleslov Yuri Petrovich (1940-2010) – poet, member of the Russian Union of Writers

He was born in the Merke of Dzhambul oblast. He worked at the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium Magnesium Plant. His first poem was published in the factory newspaper (1959). He was published in the newspapers «Rudny Altay», «Socialist Industry», in the national magazines «Prostor», «Bumblebee».
His first collection about the working man called «Working Lyre» (1981). His second book «Silence» (1987) is poignant lyrics, feelings and mood of sarcasm to tenderness, of man and nature.

Pussep Gennady Nikolaevich (1945) – poet, journalist, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, member of the literary association «Link Altay», Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan, public figure.

He was born in Ust-Kamenogorsk. He graduated the philological faculty of the Ust-Kamenogorsk State Pedagogical Institute. He worked as a teacher, metallurgist, head of personnel services of a number of enterprises, director of the school № 19, the speaker of the East Kazakhstan TV and radio, an employee of the newspaper «Different and Equal», the head of the literary and musical department of the East Kazakhstan Museum of Art. He is the director of public fund «My city» honorary citizen of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
He is the author of poetry: «Only You», «Sketches», «thumbnail Book», «The past is always going to be», «Tatyana's Year», «The Best Years», «Chrysanthemum evening», «Month of Hope», «Insomnia», «Touch» books of essays and short stories, «The train picks up speed», «In the new century, we came together».
Winner of the All-Union song contest «30 Years of the Great Victory» (1975), «Ust-Kamenogorsk is my love and pride» (2009), etc. He was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk (2005). It has an international certificate «For contribution to the development of regional culture».
He is the honorary professor of KAFU (2015).
